I personally like the new dashboard. Sometimes it takes a bit longer then the old one to load but it makes setting a blog and making changes to it much easier.

I think 2.7 is the best version as the upgrades have really improved in the 2.0 days. I still have about 10 other blogs that I need to upgrade, just havent got the chance to yet, although I need to for security issues.

For me it was a bit hard to get used to, but now I think that this new GUI of Wordpress is great! Sometimes I'm a bit apprehensive about change, but the Wordpress team has done a great job!

That looks awesome. I must say I though the dashboard could use some work. An improved upgrade process will be very welcome. It isn't that hard to do it manually but it is annoying to do so over and over again (I have several blogs plus many new releases...). Allowing me to drag the boxes I care about to where I want will be a very nice feature.

Yes the automatic upgrade is optional, you will need to initiate the upgrade process if you want to. Then go through a series of steps backing up the blog, downloading the backups, putting it in maintenance mode, deactivating plugins, the upgrade and then reactivating plugins and putting the site back online.

It is a simple process that takes about as long as it took me to write this comment.
