RSS Basics The Benefits Of RSS
As blogging becomes more popular those of using WordPress had better start learning and utilizing RSS. RSS or Really Simple Syndication, is an innovation in information management in the worldwide web as well as online marketing. I will admit that I have been slacking in this department and it’s time to learn how to learn more about it and fully utilize the technology.
A good place to start is on a blog I built for Carl Hendricks at Home Based Business Prosperity, his latest post covers the basics about RSS, check it out here: Comprehending RSS Basics

Is RSS mainly for blogs, or can it be used on any site?

RSS or a feed is really used for blogs or other CMS type sites that are dynamic and change often. I know of no way to add an RSS feed to static an HTML site or why you would want to.

RSS can also be used in a forum or in a webshop to keep your posters/customers up to date.

Hi Jeff, I just want to know how you’re doing with the learning RSS thing. I was hoping to read something about that here but there are no related posts to this one.

RSS is great for SEO and finding resources for developing your own content. Some of my best articles come from RSS feeds posted on my site.

Drive-By comments will be deleted! Like "Thanks for sharing", "Nice post", or any other text that doesn't contribute to the discussion. If you ask a very specific question about your particular WordPress theme, it will probably be deleted. I can fix your WordPress site but for a price. If you ask a question like "Why don't my blog work right", it will be deleted. If you ask a question about your WordPress site without a leaving a link to it, it will be deleted. The point is to ask questions and or comment on the the actual content of the post, and to please use some common sense. All comments are moderated and will appear when approved. Thank you.
