I found this at just the right time, I had been debating changing my site to a different format from the blog page, and this finally pushed me over the edge to go for it with a static HP. I picked up a couple good tips too, thanks!

Static front pages are underrated. They may not be flashy, but they’re reliable, solid, and easy to edit.
