Max I can’t send you the right code because each email subscription code is specific to the FeedBurner account. You need to turn on email subscriptions in your FeedBurner account.

You might have another issue… your problem might be because your blog is not self-hosted and on WordPress.com. They don’t allow AdSense ads and other forms of marketing and this may be the case. Sorry but I don’t know that much about blogs on WordPress.com, this site is about self-hosted WordPress blogs.

Hello; I have been having a devil of a time with email notifications. First, I tried setting it up with feedburner. I couldn’t get it to let me copy the html code, so I opted for copying the code for adding a link character by character. There is less code for adding a link than there is for adding the form. I installed this in a widget just fine, but every time i tried to subscribe to my feed or have someone else do it to make sure it was working I would get an error message about this feed not being authorized for subscriptions. I checked several times, and I couldn’t see what I was doing wrong. So, I removed the feedburner code and tried adding code from a site called shootthebreeze.net I added their code, and everything seamed ok until I went to my blog site to test it and found there is no place for the potential subscriber to enter their email address. If you could send me the html code in an attachment I could try going back to that step first. I’ll appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks, Max

I see . . . well, it helped me get the link for email subscriptions up anyways. Maybe I’ll eventually learn enough coding (read: or any coding) to use your site! Didn’t realize there was such a community of self-hosters using WordPress out there, so cool beans.

Peti this site’s guides are mostly for self-hosted WordPress blogs and yours is hosted on WordPress.com. I don’t think they allow any scripts like this on their blogs. That is probably why the box to enter an email address is disabled.

Hi – I followed your instructions using Feedburner, but when I got to the end of the process, I just have the words “enter your email address:”

There’s no actual box where the email address could be entered, and I’m a bit floored, since I just copied and pasted the code. I’d appreciate some help – http://movingout.wordpress.com. I’ve left it up as is for now so you can see what a mess I’ve made
