Agree that this site is a vast improvement over Wordpress support.

I have the same issue-wanting to have my self-hosted (Dreamhost) blog on Youtube, and the whole API issue.

The question is, is there another way to effectively highlight my blog on YouTube?

Thanks, this is far more helpful than Wordpress's own tutorial.

I noticed that YouTube now has a service that allows you to connect your blog to your YouTube account. It asks for your API as well as your password. I can set up a non-admin account and give it that password but I'm still not sure if I feel comfortable giving YouTube my API.

Do you think this is secure? Should I trust YouTube with my API and password?

hey this was a great help! Man I was really starting to worry I was going crazy or stupid or something.

I do kinda wonder why wordpress does not make things a little more clear. You Know? Seems like a problem they should get 100 emails a day on.

Thanks for this informative post on api keys

I've been struggling for months trying to figure out the dern API key secret. This is the best article/information i've found on it, and finally, i have it figured out and was able to activate some of my plugins that required the API key. Thank you SO much for the thorough explanation!

Thanks so much!!! Just started this blogging thing, and wanted to start watching stats...then ran into a roadblock needing API key. Ran a Google search and found this. Excellent, just followed your step-by-step instructions, and VOILA!!!

Thanks again!!

Thank you so much for this post. I was not sure if you could use the same API key on multiple blogs, but you stated above that you can (and should).

I appreciate the way you wrote this, because often newbies get flamed when asking questions...and you've just made everything very easy to understand. It's much appreciated.
