I found the easiest and most user friendly way to add a photo was by installing the Flickr widget plug in. No coding required!

I’m wondering if you can help me…I can’t seem to get any help on the WP forums that I can use.
I have a nav feature bar (folle features) where I have some pics. The idea was to put some sort of code in that area that would automatically pull a pic from a certain category – from that category’s latest post.

Right now I have to cut/paste the permalink of the POST and of the PIC into that area in the header, manually every day (or I can do a weeks worth, that’s how it’s set up. I can put the info in there and it’ll automatically, daily, switch the content.

Is there any type of code that will automatically grab a pic out of the latest post of a certain category?
I’m completely lost. Thanks!

Caroline, you would need to add some code the the picture to wrap it around the post. But since I am not all the “geek” I cheat with a plugin. It adds many more options and features to the Visual WordPress editor. And after you upload the picture file you click on the phote editor to format and position it within the post:

How do you add a photo within a post? Every time I download a photo and put it with a post, I get a lot of white space next to the photo and the text does not start until the photo ends. Also, how do you add a caption? You can see how it appears on my blog

Paul, either type the code in manually or replace the quotes, ” in the text. the code shown here is not raw HTML and the ” are in a MS Word format and not regular text.

It does matter.
