I don't know why most designers put the image as a background. It makes it so dificult to play around with.

The problem that I usually have is that I can't remove the website name from on top of the image. Does anyone know how to do that.

I did it!

All I did was upload my header image, then I replaced the kubrick.jpg name with the name of my image, adjusted the width and height and voila.

I think maybe you saw the original while I was tinkering with it. The sunflower image is what I am trying to replace with a store logo. I added the space and apostrophes but the header is still MIA. (And I thought I was reasonably intelligent until I began working with Wordpress-clearly not my forte!)

Seems to be working now. Your code was missing a few characters and spaces. You needed to add a space after url and the apostrophes ' on the location/file name of the image.

I'm trying to take a pre-made template and replace the current picture with a different one. I was so happy to find these instructions and I was able to follow them - sort of. In the stylesheet I located the header image and replaced the current location with the location of the new image. However, it does not display on the website - the header just vanished completely.

I am very ignorant to this process, but wondered if it had anythin to do with the fact that my coding is written very differently than your sample above? Instead of

#header {
width: 100%;
height: 100%;
background: #FFF url (‘images/header_footer_img.jpg’) top center repeat-y;
}

my template contains this:

.main_table {
width:936px;
display:table;
background:url(images/top_bg.jpg) left top no-repeat;
}

The only way I was able to recognize it is that this does display the current header image.

Thanks in advance for any insight or direction you might be able to offer.

Paul I use Paint Shop Pro but I really just copy and paste other already made images to create what is needed. If you want one made look on the right sidebar for my friend Yvonne at <a href="http://www.nightingaledesign.org/">Nightingale Design</a>.
