WordPress 2.5.1 Released Security Issues And Other Fixes

WordPress 2.5.1 is already been released and is out now. It has an important security fix that is not been exposed yet but it it will most likely be found soon enough.

Other fixes include the media uploader that has been the cause for many a blogger to revert back to previous versions. I haven’t encountered any of the reported issues on my test blog running 2.5 and I normally don’t encourage upgrading WordPress but in this case if you are running version 2.5 and like it you might want to. You can grab it at WordPress.org.

  1. One of my favorite plugins broke in WP 2.5.1, it’s feedwordpress. My site doesn’t syndicate feed anymore, and if it does, the title and the tag link to the original article >.

  2. Thank you for the tips in your article

  3. Thank you for your tips. I’m happy that WordPress 2.5.1 is already been released and is out now.

  4. I do agree with Kevin Paquet, that is why I don’t upgrade mine, yet.
    waiting for the plugin’s update.

  5. Ive just recently updated to 2.5 and had some serious issues with some of the plugins that i was using and took a while to find and replace some of them so i think ill be sticking with it for a while before updating to 2.5.1.

  6. Danny, there is no major difference between 2.5 and 2.5.1 in fact some issues have been fixed in the latest version.

I rarely encourage upgrading WordPress, but as the post says if you are running 2.5 and have ironed out the issues it should be an easy upgrade to 2.5.1.

  7. Hi Jeff..
Ok i’ll take your word for it as you say that there isnt that much diferent between 2.5 and 2.5.1 .
    Thanks for the feedback
