I don't understand why so many hosts don't keep their fantastico up to date. my host got an outdated version too. thats why fantastica was always useless to me.

Not only am I not able to log in but all of my preexisting plugins are gone... I made a backup but i wasn't aware that the backup was not finished when i completed the update. I don't know anything really about wordpress and just recently figured out how plugins worked so having an automatic update function was ideal but now im stuck. have no clue what to do.

I've cleared all private data on firefox and nothing.. As I type this comment out I'm trying one last thing that someone on twitter recommended. His suggestion was to delete all plugins for they're causing the error.

Ok, so I copied all of my plugins off the server onto my computer, deleted them off the server and i was able to log into my WP site. Then i put the plugins back onto the server and everything is working great...

I contacted my host and asked them to update Fantastico to the WP 2.6 install option. They did that pretty quickly and I was able to install the latest version of WP

I think the login issue was caused by a change in the way cookies are set in 2.6 so clearing cookies should have resolved it. There are extra security phrases in wp-config.

I cleared my cookies before trying to log in so I don't know if it arose but I did read that people who upgraded manually had the same problem.
