I have seen and have had to backward engineer some really interesting things for some people. So in my typical sarcastic style here is what to do if you really want to screw up your WordPress blog.

Here is just a brief little post to test the functionality of WordPress version 2.7 on the site. Believe it or not WPM was running on very very old version of WordPress. Why? Because I was too lazy to find replacement plugins for some of my favorite plugins that don’t work with version 2.7.

With the release of WordPress 2.7 there are some major changes in the WordPress dashboard. The biggest change is the menu modules on the left sidebar instead of the top navigation type menus. Finding your way around the WordPress 2.7 dashboard may seem a bit awkward for even veteran bloggers.

Changing or adding a new header image to a WordPress theme is one of the first things most people want to do to change the look of their WordPress blog. Changing a WordPress header image is a little easier than adding one to a theme that has none. Since all themes are coded differently its hard to explain exactly how to do this for each one, but here are the basics.

There are some big changes coming in WordPress version 2.7. One of the biggest changes I noticed so far, is the look and arrangement of the dashboard. There is also the inclusion of few new features like automatic upgrades and the QuickPress feature on the main WordPress dashboard screen.

Keeping your WordPress blog up to date cam seem like a never ending task, especially if you use a lot of plugins. It seems like WordPress is coming out with incremental updates almost every week anymore, with that comes plugin updates to keep up with changes. The good news is that WordPress now has built-in automatic plugin upgrades.

If you are like me and dread upgrading WordPress to the latest version, then version 2.7 may be the last one that you need to update manually. I usually put off the upgrades mostly because of all the plugin issues that can arise. I guess I just don’t want to spend hours tracking down the fixes for plugin compatibility issues. Even though that can happen with an automated upgrade, once you get everything stabilized in the latest version small incremental upgrades should be easier to deal with.

I don’t expect you to come to my site to read about WordPress and instead get my political views crammed down your throat. Believe me I have them but that is not what this site is about so I will leave that for the correct time and place, something a few celebrities should figure out. No this is about the old static HTML websites and why I see very little need for them.

I have stated in the past that if you are happy with the way your WordPress blog is then there is no need to try to keep up with all the WordPress upgrades. It seemed as if a new version was coming up every week for a while there and trying to keep up manually was just a pain. Now with the use of a plugin and the integrated options in version 2.6.1 it’s much less painful keeping WordPress up to date.
