Both are having their own features. The main feature I like most about blogger is that we can do customize the themes according to our suitability. WordPress is also having theme customization feature but upto certain limits. In case of indexing both are same now. Good difference is given here. Thanks.

One problem I’ve found with Blogger is that there is so much spam on there it seems to devalue the better sites. I wouldn’t like to build a blog and userbase through someone elses domain name – how would you feel if/when Blogger closes or changes its name, and you have to update everything? Not ideal to say the least…

I’m not a fan of blogger personally, and would rather have a fresh WordPress install any day! There’s some advantages and disadvantages of both, but I really didn’t like not being able to fully customise blogger in the same way. Slightly disappointing, but I guess it’s for security.

The main difference is that blogger sucks and is outdated. Does anyone still use it? WordPress is the future of blogging.

Although, I have just moved my blog from blogspot to wordpress. I do not think wordpress is user friendly.
When I have one question, I type a few key words and thousands of answers come up. Also the answers use computer jargon that I am not familiar with. Blogspot was much easier

Jeff, you’ve made some very good points about WordPress. I was surprised to hear that other people are claiming Blogger gets indexed faster than WP. In my experiences, WP blogs get indexed rapidly. Most posts seem to be index within a day or two, so I’d be curious to hear actual times for Blogger blogs.

I agree with some of the other comments (and it sounded like you were leaning towards it) that it doesn’t make sense to create a blog that isn’t self-hosted. Too many lost SEO benefits, monetization opportunities and ownership/control issues.

I recently moved from blogger to WordPress. And WordPress is simply the best. Other CMSs are not even close to WordPress. But if you want to have a simple CMS service blogger is the choice.

Completely agree with most of the comments. WordPress is just miles away from blogger. It’s just superior and powerful. The plug-in support of WordPress really makes it much more awesome. Cheers

WordPress is the way to go so you can have more control. For example ebay does not allow you to sell on blogger.com anymore.
